The County Council’s “Think Big”

Think Big

Some good news – Surrey County Council has put aside £100 Million over the next few years to support Community Projects across the County. This is open to the imagination but needs to conform with the Surrey Vision for 2030.

The Council suggests things such as: a local swimming pool, collaborative workspace, football pitch, a space to train and learn, community halls – these are just examples.

Community groups are encouraged to come forward with ideas.

There is a webpage: www.surreycc.gov.uk/yourfund , where there is a growing list of ideas and information. If you don’t ask, you will never know if you could have succeeded in getting your long-dreamt of project completed.

The fund is comprised of public money and it is essential that it is put to good use. Therefore, there is a set of criteria Your Fund Surrey projects need to meet, set out below.

Idea Submission Criteria

Does the idea fit with the aims of Surrey’s Community Vision 2030?

Check the list here.

If you are involved with a community group, then the starting point would be to look at the County’s website here –  Your Fund
You need to identify which of the aims the project will meet:

Everyone lives healthy, active and fulfilling lives.

Everyone gets the health and social care support they need.

Communities are welcoming and supportive.

Residents live in clean, safe and green communities.

Journeys across the county are easier and safer.

Everyone has a place they can call home.

Businesses in Surrey thrive.

Communities are well connected and grow sustainably.
