News and tips from our local trainers by Caroline Baldock

Dear readers of my column.
Although we have come to the end of the flat racing season, there are still one or two horses trained here for the National Hunt.
Adam West has a few and one or two of Pat Phelan’s may run over hurdles.
There will also be the all-weather circuit still continuing. The All-Weather championships offer the very best of British all-weather racing and consist of over 200 fixtures incorporating all the flat races running from Tuesday 17th October 2023 to Friday March 24 at Chelmsford City, Kempton Park, Lingfield Park, Newcastle, Southwell, and Wolverhampton.

Jim Boyle’s string on Epsom Downs
Back to our local horses. Recuerdame, trained by Simon Dowe, won at Lingfield last month at 9-1. Jim Boyle has two, Tellmesomethingood and Classic Anthem, watch out for them.

Paddy Bradley with Recuerdame.
Pat Phelan’s horses to watch are Dotties Star and Blue Curacao. Both have finished well. Brett Johnson has Roscioli who finished 4th on the 18th of November.
Lee Carter has Al Tarmooth, finished 2nd on the 21 November.
Michael Attwater is very busy, Impeach won for him on the 16th November, Nordic Glory is one to watch out for as well as Smasher, and Street Parade.
So there are a few to be going on with. The Owner and Trainers Dinner on the 2nd December will tell us who is the leading Epsom trainer this year. More news to come.
So I want to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a very happy New Year and keep on betting, it keeps racing alive, and racing is a national sport we should be very proud of. It is our heritage, and we led the way all those centuries ago.
