After being closed for a long while, The Posh Plaice fish & chips shop has reopened at Tattenham Corner. Residents will have noticed the refurbishments going on over recent months, but all works are now complete at The Posh Plaice is open again for business.

The new owners, Ali Mehmet and Erap Semi have completely refitted the takeaway restaurant and installed the latest equipment and ventilation systems. Chips are all prepared in house  from fresh potatoes rather than frozen chips and their fish is delivered fresh daily. The shop is so modern, clean and tidy that it resembles an operating theatre behind the scenes.

Ali tells us he has been in catering for over 50 years. He also owns the Flame Grill in Banstead and over the years has operated Wimpy Bar and Pizza restaurants in our area.

In addition to the normal fish and chips menu, The Posh Plaice also offers a range of burgers and fried chicken. Prices are reasonable and do not seem to have changed much since the old restaurant was open. Of particular interest to older residents, an OAP Fish & Chips is available for only £6.90.
