A new skatepark is currently being built in Nork Park.

It is on the same site as an old skatepark that was dismantled a few years ago because it was felt to be unsafe. It is located at the southern end of the park next to the tennis and basketball courts and adjacent to Tattenhams Recreation Ground.

As well as replacing the old facility it is also replacing an informal pump track that had operated for some years in the woodland behind the Asda Store at Burgh Heath. This was also closed down by Reigate & Banstead Council for safety reasons.

Work on the new skatepark only started last month and is proceeding at speed compared with the other site in Preston Park which took over a year to complete, cost a fortune (£150,000) and is still not entirely finished.

The contractors on the new site appear to be doing a very professional job and if they continue at the current speed the new facility should be available well before the summer.
