After missing a year due to Covid, Music in Nork Park was back on Sunday 19th September. Postponed from its original date in July it sadly fell foul of our currently unreliable weather conditions.
This event has been running for many years. Last year it was not possible to hold a live event, but the show did go on with an online version. Each year funds are raised for local charities and this time, the Epsom & Ewell foodbank are being supported.
The event was opened by Cllr Jill Bray , Mayor of Reigate & Banstead, seen here having a good time!
This time around, despite superb organisation and planning, the sun decided not to make an appearance but plenty of local residents did. It started off dry, then decided to rain quite heavily, before drying off again. But this did not put anyone off. Tent City came to Nork Park and people were partying despite the weather conditions.
The rain did not stop the fun
Acts performing included local singer Nikki Aston, The Show Choir, The Electric 80’s, Abba Re-Bjorn, and local favourite, Colin Roy. The audience also welcomed Elvis impersonator and local boy Ben Thompson. Ben, who used to be a pupil at the Beacon School is the only English Elvis who has ever won the Elvis Impersonator Competition held at Graceland. He goes on tour early next year with his own concert – “Elvis the Ultimate Experience” which starts at Redhill’s Harlequin Theatre on 29th January 2022.
Colin Roy and Bonita close the show
Next year Music in Nork Park is scheduled to return at its usual time in July 2021. We will keep you informed of dates.
Food stalls were available
But many brought their own picnics

Apart from the concert, food stalls were available, but many visitors had picnics well organised.
There was also a Fun Zone for kids with roundabouts and bouncy castles for the kids.
