On Thursday 5th May we go to the polls to elect one of our three local borough councillors. Polling stations in our ward are at St Marks Church on Great Tattenhams and Tadworth Leisure Centre on Preston Manor Road. They will be open from 7.00 a.m.to 10.00 p.m.

To participate in local government elections you must be registered to vote. If you are not yet registered, you can do so online at:
https://www.registertovote.service.gov.uk/register-to-vote
You will need to have your national insurance number and full postal address available.
Register by 5pm on the 14th April to be eligible to vote in the May election.
Most of us will already be on the electoral roll but if you have recently changed your address or have only just reached voting age (18) you may not be registered. If you are not sure you can check whether you are on the electoral register by viewing it at the Town Hall in Reigate. Contact the Electoral Registration Officer to arrange this (telephone 01737 276 794 or email elreg@reigate-banstead.gov.uk)
If you are unable to vote on the day of the election you can apply for a postal vote. This can be done online at:
https://www.reigate-banstead.gov.uk/info/20318/voting_and_elections/290/postal_and_proxy_voting
To be eligible for this election you need to apply by 19th April.
If you opt for a postal vote, you will receive a ballot paper in the post before the election with full instructions on how it should be completed. This need to be returned to the address provided to ensure it arrives before the election closes. You can also hand in a completed postal ballot paper at a polling station on the day.
