Banstead Commons Conservators are recruiting volunteers
Do you love nature on your doorstep? Would you like to volunteer to help conserve Banstead Commons for future generations to enjoy and wildlife to thrive?
The Banstead Commons Conservators are recruiting volunteers to join regular work parties that will be held on the four sites that make up Banstead Commons: Banstead Heath, Banstead Downs, Park Downs and Burgh Heath. Tasks will include invasive species control, scrub clearance and litter management.
Conservation work parties will be held fortnightly and commence at the beginning of October. No prior experience is necessary. A full task briefing is held at each session which includes an overview of the habitat that you will be working to conserve, the job ahead and how to operate safely in the field.
Practical volunteering is a great way to keep fit, meet new people and most importantly, have fun! If you’d like to learn more about the opportunities available and commitment required, please contact
Lucy Shea on 07919 251 512 or email: clerk@bansteadcommonsconservators.co.uk
The Conservators would like to use this opportunity to thank our local Resident Associations, Farming in Protected Landscapes and the Downlands Trust who donated funds to enable us to purchase hand tools to support of group of twenty-five volunteers.

“Though rich in places, Britain as a whole is one of the most nature depleted countries in the world. Never had there been a more important time to invest in our wildlife”.
