I am 60, a father of two girls, one of whom lives with me in Great Tattenhams. I first moved into the area in 2000.
Whilst I am now retired, I spent 30 years in the Metropolitan Police Service much of which was in the CID in London’s West End, my final twelve years were spent as a Detective on the Murder squad.
Following this I spent three years with Surrey Police as an investigator based in Guildford, 18 months with Hampshire Police working out of Basingstoke and latterly a position with Kent and Essex Police also as a civilian investigator. Running alongside this for the last five years I have also worked as an estate agent in Shere.
Currently I am Vice Chairman and Poppy Appeal organiser with the Banstead and District Branch of the Royal British Legion. This means that I organise the poppy appeal in Banstead including Tattenham & Preston.

I am Chairman of the highly successful “Music in the Park” which holds a concert every summer in Nork Park. I have held this position for the past 10 years. I also act as secretary for the Nork Business Guild.
In the past I was chairman of the Board of Governors of Epsom Downs Primary School from 2006 to 2017 and Chairman and founder member of the Beacon School Parents Association before becoming the Chairman of the board of Trustees for the Beacon Friends Association. In my spare time I also stood on the committee of Downswood Lawn Tennis Club.
My personal interests include the Theatre and I currently play for a Cricket team based near Guildford. I also enjoy walking and playing golf badly.
I would sum up my objectives if elected as your future Councillor for Tattenham & Preston as achieving and maintaining a safe, clean and orderly environment.
To me this is about having respect for the area we live in, a space we share with others. And if we value it, we can, in time, be more considerate, we can clear up after ourselves. Less noise, air and light pollution and cut our speeds down. In liaison with the Police and consultation with residents we can make this area safer not only crime wise but on the roads as well. I believe we all want to live in a community and go about our daily lives safely, orderly and be proud of where we live.
I hope to meet residents soon as the Residents Association’s AGM on the 23rd March and will be canvassing in the area prior to the election in May. I hope that I can count on your support.
