URGENT DEADLINE FOR NEW COMMENTS – 14 JULY 2022

The Planning Inspectorate decision has been quoshed and the appeal will be re considered.

You may recall that this application to demolish 6 bungalows in Great Tattenhams and replace them by 39 flats in four blocks was originally refused by the Council, but then overturned (that is, approved) by the Planning Inspectorate. Because of legal errors by the Inspector, the Council pursued the case to the courts and the decision of the Planning Inspectorate has itself overturned.

As a result, the appeal will be reconsidered by a new Planning Inspector.

Please note that this does not necessarily mean the Inspector will reach a different overall decision.

Current status can be seen here

The application was turned down by the Council because of the size and scale of the new scheme, which the Planning Committee viewed as an incongruous and cramped over-development of the site, out of keeping with the character of the area.
